Your website is no longer just a showcase designed for people; it also becomes a structured data source that an agent can use to make recommendations, compare products, or <strong>even make purchases on your behalf<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This initiative is based on very specific measures that are already underway. It is important not to confuse three concepts that, until now, had been grouped under the same umbrella: <\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>SEO is about Google ranking you highly;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>GEO is when an LLM quotes you when someone asks it directly;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>An &#8220;agent-friendly&#8221; website is one that allows an agent to understand your site well enough to <em>take action<\/em> on it, not just mention it.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Why It Matters Now<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Two signs indicate that this is no longer just theory. First, Google has added an experimental category called \u201cAgent Navigation\u201d to Lighthouse (and therefore to PageSpeed Insights), which evaluates whether an AI agent can navigate and interact with your site. It\u2019s important to manage expectations here: Google\u2019s own documentation clarifies that this score does not affect search rankings\u2014it\u2019s a readiness assessment, not a ranking factor.  <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And, on the other hand, the second sign relates to infrastructure: WebMCP has been available in preview since February 2026, and several platforms (including Webflow, which has undergone a complete internal restructuring toward agency-based marketing) are already investing heavily in this area.<\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>5 Steps You Can Take Right Now<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Track which AI bots visit your website.<\/strong>  Check your logs and user agents to find out who&#8217;s &#8220;reading&#8221; your site right now.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Set up your robots.txt file with a strategy designed for bots<\/strong>, not just traditional crawlers.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Assess your citability<\/strong> by asking ChatGPT, Gemini, or Perplexity directly what they say about your industry and whether they mention you.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Implement or update your llms.txt<\/strong> file with verified brand and company information.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Enhance schema markup<\/strong> by going beyond the basic &#8220;Article&#8221; type to include types that expose specific operational data (features, certifications, availability).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Conclusion<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Agency-driven web strategies do not replace SEO or GEO; rather, they add a third layer.
